So over the next while I’m going to explore creative ways of exploring this question more deeply and widely. I will be doing this in amongst my usual sharing of learning new art skills and playing around with some known bug less explored ones. I have a specific set of journal prompts for the opportunity…
Watercolour Play

So I decided to experiment more with watercolour on thicker Derwent paper after a wonderful gift from a friend. As said previously this hasn’t been my forte or skilled approach however it is fast growing on me especially in a mixed media way. Here are just a couple of recent examples.
Drawing Stories

Example Illustration Of A Story From Ghana- Africa This evening a group of us had the lovely privilege of listening to stories told by the wonderful Gary Cordingley. We were to illustrate as he spoke, again another method out with my comfort zone but was a pleasure to experience. Not my best works of art…
Current Acrylic Painting In The Making

Just sharing a painting that is forming. Not quite creative journaling or portfolio learning but seemed a nice place to share some of the behind the scenes process of other artwork ☺️ looking forward to how this may look in the end. Fingers crossed it works out okay.
Continuing The Free Mind Doodling

Just a way to record natural mind process, entirely metaphoric like dreaming and free from precognition. Simple momentary arising and not easily decoded. A lovely way to monitor moments of mind stories as they pass like clouds. The collection will be pulled together to create a bigger picture in this Covid moment.
Hopes And Reality

I began these lockdowns with the full intention of having a free doodle hour per day. Just to map free flowing mind midst the chaos. However best laid plans and all. I instead have been working hard on an exhibition that you are invited to participate in just to offer some time out from what…
A Little More Alcohol Ink, Gold Leaf Mixed Media And Bister Ink

A brief play just experimenting with no goal in mind. It started wonderful somehow I had a dripping iris and eye, it was somehow neat (comfort zone) then it turned a little grunge. Was not comfortable in the slightest thought I was going to discard of it as a complete write off. I pushed through…
Bister Ink Play

Having no idea what this ink was or what it was used for I’ve just been experimenting with different applications. Got some inspiration from a piece of art I found on Pinterest. I’m fascinated by the shadow, the other side of what we do not see or catch moments of reflections in. Not sure why…
Abstract Play

I have adapted this blog to focus more on intuitive play in the form of art journaling, my more explorative philosophical search around meaning, being human and my main artwork is now on my other website. Should you wish to follow me there you will find me at stacieamelia.com. Here it is very much play…
What Is It That Exists?

©️ User 326726150 · Poem - Inadvertent Incognita ©️ This poem was inspired by an interpersonal exchange this week. Inadvertent Incognita When you think, feel and know that you lived, there’s a story of what happened but nothing to prove that it did. Nothing of substance than can be touched to say for sure ‘yes’,…
The Invitation
~ by Oriah Mountain Dreamer ~ It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing. It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love,…
Poem~ The Passing Of The Lost Lands

~ by Stacie Amelia ~ An abyss falls within, an unwelcome weight, pulling down into darkness where the other lost wait. Each soul is crying in heaviness of grief, (There is hope though for that pain to fall away ...like a leaf) It takes time for each soul to find their own special way out,…
In Search Of Meaning (ii)

Why here? Why now? Why at all? This blog post is more on a personal note than the others. It is more a pulling together of everything to date so I can consciously move forward into a fuller focus and commitment to this work. I hope naturally though that the posts that follow are more…
In Search of Meaning (i)

It has been an arduous task trying to define most precisely what I have been aiming towards with this work. I have spent many months in a sort of hibernation, tossing and turning towards understanding my real intention here. This is it. Fundamentally I am searching to understand how each of us make meaning of…
Welcome

I woke up one morning to find my life upside down and scattered across the floor. I decided to explore how each of us make sense of our circumstances and experiences. My featured artwork (non journal based) and reflective blog with regard to the 'Being Human' journey, in which there is wider public exploration, can…
